H1N1 flu is being seen in students throughout the Sacramento community.
As was expected, reports of flu increased as area schools went back into session. Current guidance does not call for school dismissals unless widespread illness occurs. Therefore, it is essential for parents to monitor their children's health, and keep them home from school if they experience flu-like symptoms. Likewise, school staff must be vigilant for signs of sick children and should be prepared to separate them from the classroom and send them home until they are well.
